I’m just wondering if I am the only one that is fed up and disgusted by what television has decided are “reality” shows. Are they really reality?
HELL FUCKING NO!!!!!!!!
The dictionary defines reality as, 1. actual existence; a true state of affairs. 2. a real thing; actual fact. 3. in reality, really; actually; in fact; truly.
This means that whatever the show is, it should happen naturally with NO ONE directing the action or dialog. The people should interact with each other as if they where in the privacy of their homes or businesses. On some of these shows, there is the very distinct possibility that someone could get hurt.
Now let’s take an intelligent look at what is supposed to pass as “reality” on television. First and most importantly, the action and dialog does not happen naturally. The participants are told ahead of time just what the theme of the show is about and given the basics of what is to happen. This means that they are told who will argue with who and what they will argue about. They are told when they are to scream at each other and when they are to fight with each other. A perfect case in point is the Jerry Springer show. The “guests” stand and argue and yell at each other until the director or someone else rings a bell and as soon as the bell sounds, the fighting starts. That sure as shit is not reality.
In the case of the outdoor shows that are supposed to be about survival in the wilderness, have you every heard of anyone getting hurt or going hungry. Lets face the facts people, they have a crew around them of lighting and sound technicians, camera crews, chefs, first responders and probably a lot more.
ANYBODY CAN SURVIVE IN THE WILDERNESS WITH THIS KIND OF A SUPPORT CREW.
I know from my own experience that the tattoo shows are all bullshit. I have been a tattoo artist for over 30 years and owned my own shop for over 20 years.
I know artists from all over the world and there is not an artist in the world, and I include myself, that would work more than 5 minutes in any tattoo studio that had anywhere near as much drama as the so called “reality” tattoo shows. We are very dedicated to our art and CAN NOT concentrate or do a customer a satisfying tattoo with all that type of tension and drama. Plus the fact that the customers DO NOT want to be subjected to that type of shit. They would walk out and would never return.
THESE SHOWS ARE COMPLETE BULLSHIT
I also know a couple of people that where on the Jerry Springer show about 8 or 10 years ago. They told me just how they where coached for both dialog and action and what the show was to be about. The theme of this particular show was “My Girl Goes Everywhere Naked”. They even filmed a sequence that was supposed to take place in a crowded mall, but if you paid attention, the supposed mall was dark and there WAS NOT another person there. To me, this means it was either a movie set or the mall was used after it’s normal hours and was closed to business and the public.
SO WAKE UP AMERICA AND STOP SUPPORTING THIS FUCKING CRAP. THESE SHOWS ARE GETTING MORE AND MORE FUCKING ASININE WITH EACH NEW SO CALLED “REALITY” SHOW.
